Romans in the Snow

We could stay outside all day and Roman would still cry when it's time to go in. Rain, snow or shine.he loves to be outside. Oh yeah, never mind it's like -10 degrees.
He tried to eat the snow flakes at first.

Longs Peak North Face

I want to go back. Brother, are you with me?! Jason and I hiked for 7 hours with 40 pound packs to a place called Boulder Field Camp located near the North Face of Longs Peak. This is normally a 3-4 hour hike (in the summer with no pack). From Boulder Field Camp it would have taken another 3-4 hours to get to the top and then another 4-6 hours back down. Somewhere between 17-20 hours round trip.

This picture is not going to make Jason want to go back with me. You can feel his pain from over 10 hours of hiking in deep snow on steep terrain with no path to follow. Jason collapsed from exhaustion and altitude sickness.

Colorado

Someday I'm going to put my tent on that rock. Winter time would be ideal but either way, I don't think I'll need a reservation. There is about a 200' drop off on the other side with a nice view of Longs Peak and Lilly Lake.

Glory Days

OK, Hear me brag.....
State Champions! "A Class C-1 Dream Team" -we played 3 games at State without ever loosing the lead in any game and finished #1, setting a record for most points scored at State (all class). Arguably the best team Class C1 has EVER seen! This was a goal of mine since I was a kid. Most of us played together since grade school and talked often about playing at State.

Roman in Camo

One of our favorite family activities is hiking. Roman loves the outdoors and if there is one place you can bet on him being happy it's here. That, we have in common.

Romans Favorite Car

This could be Roman's summer 09 obsession (the car). He can only go backwards on the grass but he doesn't know any better. This is as good as it gets in his world. He likes to sit on point and be a lookout for bikes, trucks and dogs.

Trick or Treat

Roman and Cousin Drey are suppose to be looking for candy. Instead they are playing in dirt and grease. Roman couldn't be happier.

Traveling with Roman

Never a dull moment. Roman points out things like Tractors, boats and trains. He also lets us know when there's nothing to point out.

Grandma Ester Harms 90th Birthday!

We celebrated Ester Harm's 90th Birthday in Branson, MO over Labor Day weekend. In this picture is my Dad, his brother and Roman.

Blue Angel

I think they need to get tinted windows. Poor guy has no privacy.

Top Gun

When the pilot took off, our chairs blew away......and it was LOUD.

Blue Angels

They are suppose to be 18" apart flying at 400 mph.

Blue Angels

This was insane! These jets were flying about 400 mph like this. They are probably at 600' elevation in this pic.

We need a name for this boat. It not big, powerful or impressive, but it floats well. Any ideas?

Ozarks

Jet Ski VS Four Crazies

Tyler is driving with me on the back. Darwin and Jeff are hanging on also. The objective was to see if we could make this thing stand up. I was laughing so hard I almost drowned.

Speed Boat

We spent a few days at Lake of the Ozarks with the Edigers. I Haven't decided which pics to post yet but there are some good ones to look forward too. We had a great time! Speed boats were a everwhere. Some of these boats had well over 1000 HP! The place sounded like the Daytona 500 with boats cruising at speeds up to 100 mph.

fly-over the lake at about 300'

From the Garden

All pictures of flowers or bugs are from my garden. Every year this garden gets bigger and better. Soon I will need a bigger yard or I won't have any grass.

4th of July - Independence Day -

Each year around the 4th I feel a little bit younger. I get together with friends and family to enjoy good food, great company and HUGE fireworks. It's definitely a favorite tradition of mine. This year was nothing short of an assault on your senses. We experienced temporary loss of hearing, disorientation and genuine fear but no one got hurt and everyone had a great time. This is patriotism at its finest! Enjoy

These 10 tubes firing simultaneously
shook the boxes so much they got off center and almost fell over. Some of the shells must have gone up near 300'. We had over 200 large shells....gotta leave room for next year to be bigger!

Launch Pad with 10 tubes.
